Lightning look to strike against Wasps

Loughborough Lightning take on Wasps away 13:35pm this Saturday 15th September live on Sky Rugby.

The match will be the second of the season where Lightning look to maintain their hundred percent record. Sitting 5th in the table just one point behind Wasps who are currently in 2nd the match is hotly contested with both sides looking threatening on paper.

Sarah Hunter will look forward to leading the side that features fellow international stars; Justine Lucas, Cath O’Donnell, Daleaka Menin, Emily Tuttosi, Sarah Bonar and Jenny Maxwell to take the team over the line.

Hunter commented:

“We will be looking to build on last week’s performance against a competitive and exciting wasp team. We know that they’ll have a strong pack and dangerous back three, so we’re expecting a hugely competitive match. It’s exciting to be live on Sky where we can showcase the best women’s talent in the country.”

Head Coach Rhys Edwards said:

” Winning last week was a great start to our season depsite a difficult ending to the match. Dealing with the pressure late on last week has given us added confidence that we can play under pressure.  Saturday’s fixture has been one we’ve focused on since we saw it would be televised on the fixture list. It was always going to be a tough fixture to fight, in particular we didn’t play well away to Wasps last year so it’s an opportunity to keep momenutm building and make our mark in the competition. ”

My name is John ‘Max’ Maxwell and I am the MD of RuckinRugby, a website design and hosting company focused on all things Rugby. Rugby is a huge part of my life and after meeting Catherine Spencer some years ago, I became interested in the women’s game at the highest level.

The World Champion team of 2014 were something very special and I immediately became aware of how important our domestic game would become in maintaining the sort of national side that I, and many others love to watch. This inspired me to do whatever I can to promote Women’s Elite Rugby in England.
